The Double Touch Method is a guided self-touch practice I created from something very simple:
What happens when we stop being completely passive in our own wellbeing?
Instead of lying down while someone else does everything for you, you participate.
You use your own hands.
With my voice guiding you, you place your hands on different areas of your body and move through a
sequence of touch, breath and attention.
But your hands aren’t simply resting there.
As we move through the chakra points, I guide you into what each area has traditionally represented
emotionally and energetically – and I bring that into real life.
The things we carry. The things we never said. Love. Heartache. Anger. Fear. Overthinking. The
moments when we silenced ourselves. The feelings we may not have stopped long enough to notice.
You listen. You touch. You breathe. And you notice what comes up for you.
You don’t need special equipment.
You don’t need experience with meditation.
You don’t need to know Reiki.
And you don’t need to understand chakras before you begin.
You already have the most important part of the practice.
Your own two hands.
There are two parts to the practice.
The first touch is yours.
Your own hands create the physical connection with your body.
You are physically holding the area we are bringing attention to.
The second is my guidance.
When you practice with the audio, my voice accompanies you through the sequence.
I guide you through where to place your hands, where to bring your attention and the emotional
themes traditionally connected with that part of the body.
When we practice together in person, I can guide you while my hands work above or alongside yours.
I am there with you, but I am not doing everything for you.
You are participating in your own experience.
That is why I call it Double Touch.
There is another part of the method that matters just as much as the touch.
Recognition.
I don’t simply tell you where to put your hands. I guide you into what that area may represent and give
you real examples to connect with.
When your hands come to the forehead and third-eye area, for example, I may invite you to notice the
tension you’ve been carrying there – the overthinking, mental exhaustion or the feeling of a head that
simply will not quiet down.
When your hands move to the throat, I may ask you to remember the times you needed to speak and
didn’t.
The words you swallowed.
The moment somebody hurt you and you stayed quiet.
What it has meant in your own life to silence yourself.
When your hands come over your heart, we move somewhere different.
Love. Heartache. Giving love. Receiving it. Protecting yourself from it. The people you have loved.
The love you may be ready to welcome back in.
I am not telling you what you should feel.
I am giving you somewhere to look.
And while you are looking, your own hands are there with you.
People do feel things during this practice.
Sometimes an emotion comes up.
Sometimes there is a memory.
Sometimes there is relief.
Sometimes something I say makes you recognize a feeling you have been carrying without really
naming it.
A conversation.
A relationship.
Something you are angry about.
A loss.
Something you never said.
Someone you miss.
Or simply how tired you have been.
That moment of recognition is part of the practice.
And what has always fascinated me is that it is your own hands holding you while it happens.
I guide the experience.
The touch belongs to you.
My background in Reiki and chakra work is part of where the Double Touch Method came from.
I use the chakra system as a way of moving through different emotional themes and areas of the
body.
But you do not need to arrive believing anything about chakras.
For me, they give us a language and a structure.
The throat gives us somewhere to explore voice and expression.
The heart gives us somewhere to explore love, grief, connection and vulnerability.
The solar plexus can bring us toward themes such as confidence, control, frustration and anger.
And each part of the practice opens another door.
I guide you toward that door.
You decide what is there for you.
Everyone brings a different life into those 26 minutes, so no two experiences are exactly the same.
I didn’t sit down one day and decide I was going to invent a method.
It happened much more naturally than that.
I created a 26-minute guided audio practice.
And honestly, I almost didn’t release it.
It felt different from anything else I was creating.
It wasn’t exactly meditation.
It wasn’t exactly Reiki.
And it wasn’t like the other practices I was seeing.
I worried people might not understand it.
But something in me kept saying to put it out there.
So I did.
And the response surprised me.
It became one of my most loved and highly reviewed practices.
The thing I had been most hesitant to share became the thing people kept coming back to.
That original practice became the beginning of what I now call The Double Touch Method.
You get comfortable somewhere you can be uninterrupted for a little while.
You put on your headphones.
And I guide you.
You move your hands through a sequence of placements on your own body.
At each point, I give you time to settle, breathe and notice.
I introduce the emotional and energetic themes connected with that part of the practice and offer
examples that may help you recognize what resonates with your own life.
There is no single correct response.
The point is not to force an emotion or manufacture a breakthrough.
It is to create enough quiet, touch and guidance for you to notice what is already there.
I think we have become surrounded by the idea that we are constantly supposed to be improving
ourselves.
Healing something.
Optimizing something.
Becoming something.
The Double Touch Method is not another test you have to pass.
Some days you may come to it because you feel overwhelmed.
Some days because you cannot settle.
Some days because you are carrying something emotionally.
And sometimes because you simply want to stop and be with yourself for a little while.
You do not have to arrive with something wrong.
You can practice simply because it feels good to stop.
The original Double Touch Method was created as an audio practice.
That remains one of the things I love most about it.
You can do it by yourself.
At home.
In a hotel.
While traveling.
Whenever you need somewhere to come back to.
I have also begun bringing the method into my in-person work and retreats.
There, the experience changes slightly.
You still use your own hands.
I guide you through the practice while I am physically present, and where appropriate my hands may
work above or alongside yours.
The principle remains the same.
I am guiding. You are participating.
This matters to me.
I do not want everything I offer to depend on you having access to me.
I want you to have practices you can return to yourself.
The Double Touch Method is one of them.
Once you have experienced the practice and understand how it feels, your own hands can become a
reminder.
Slow down.
Come back.
Breathe.
Notice.
You do not need a perfect room.
You do not need candles.
You do not need to be on retreat in Bali.
You can begin exactly where you are.
Experience the original guided audio practice and my other practices online.
Experience the Double Touch Method as part of my private work and selected in-person experiences
The Double Touch Method will be part of the retreats I am creating next, alongside guided practices, rest, movement, longevity and midlife wellbeing
Reiki will always be part of my background.
I trained deeply in it and completed my Reiki Shinpiden Master/Teacher training.
It taught me a great deal about stillness, touch, intention and the importance of slowing down.
But over the years, my work evolved.
I began combining what I had learned with guided audio, self-touch and my own way of working with
the body and the emotional themes of the chakra system.
Eventually, I realized I was not trying to create another version of Reiki.
I was developing something of my own.
The Double Touch Method grew from everything I had learned – but became its own practice.
And I am still developing it.
As I continue studying longevity, midlife wellbeing and the practices that help us feel better as we get
older, I expect my work to continue evolving with me.
You do not need to know what you are doing.
That is what my voice is there for.
Find somewhere comfortable.
Put on your headphones.
Give yourself 26 minutes.
And begin.
