I’m Christina Bitanga.
I’m originally from the Philippines, I’ve spent much of my life between different countries and cultures,
and I’ve always felt most myself near the sea.
Maybe that’s why islands keep finding their way into my life.
Palawan. Bali. Ibiza.
Different places, different chapters, but each one represents something I keep coming back to –
space, nature, simplicity and the feeling that life doesn’t always need to move so quickly.
My work grew in much the same way.
It wasn’t one big decision or one perfectly planned career.
It evolved.
Reiki was one of the practices that first changed the way I understood rest, energy and our
relationship with our own bodies.
I went deeply into it and eventually completed my training as a Reiki Shinpiden Master.
From there, I continued studying.
Chakra balancing. Breathwork. Yin Yoga. Yoga Nidra. EFT. Positive Psychology. Animal Reiki.
Some practices stayed with me more than others.
And over the years, I stopped feeling that everything needed a label.
I began taking what genuinely helped me, leaving behind what didn’t, and developing a way of
working that felt much more natural to me.
Less performance.
Less ritual for the sake of ritual.
More listening.
At some point, I created a 26-minute guided audio practice.
It was different from anything I’d made before.
Instead of asking someone to simply lie down and receive, I guided them to use their own hands.
I talked them through where to place their hands on their body, moving through the chakra points and
gently bringing attention to the emotions, tension and experiences we traditionally associate with
those areas.

I almost didn’t release it.
It felt too different.
Too simple, maybe.
And honestly, I wasn’t sure anyone would understand what I was trying to do.
I released it anyway.
It became one of my most loved and highly reviewed practices.
That practice eventually became what I now call The Double Touch Method.
The first touch is yours.
The second is my guidance.
Through an audio, my voice accompanies you.
When we’re working together in person, I can guide you while my hands work above or alongside
yours.
What matters to me is that you aren’t completely passive.
You’re part of the practice.
Something else happened that I never really planned.
People started finding my work online.
Today, more than 50,000 students have practiced with me through Insight Timer, across my guided
practices, meditations and courses.
People listen from bedrooms, airplanes, hotel rooms and homes all over the world.
Some find me because they can’t sleep.
Some are overwhelmed.
Some are curious about Reiki or self-healing.
And some simply need someone to help them become quiet for a little while.
Knowing that something I recorded quietly can reach someone on the other side of the world still
means a great deal to me.
Online practices are one part of my work.
But there is something completely different about being together in person.
I’ve been creating and facilitating intimate retreats and gatherings for many years, particularly around
Bali, the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
I’ve always preferred small groups.
I like knowing who’s there.
I like conversations that happen naturally over breakfast.
I like having enough structure that people feel held, but enough freedom that nobody feels they’re
attending a conference.
And I’ve always been protective of people’s privacy.
Many people arrive at retreats carrying things they don’t necessarily want photographed, posted or
explained publicly.
That’s why I’ve rarely made participants the content of my retreats.
You don’t owe the internet your story simply because you came away for a few days.
That philosophy will continue in everything I create.
I’m getting older.
And rather than pretending otherwise, I’ve become fascinated by it.
I’m increasingly interested in longevity – not simply how many years we can add to our lives, but how
well we can live those years.
Strength.
Sleep.
Stress.
Movement.
Food.
Connection.
Menopause and the changing female body.
Our minds.
Our independence.
And how we continue feeling interested in our own lives.
I’m continuing my studies in longevity and midlife wellbeing, particularly around menopause and the
things that become increasingly important as we move through our 40s, 50s and beyond.
I’m not interested in pretending I have every answer.
I’m interested in learning, practicing, bringing together what makes sense, and sharing what I
discover.
I think this will become an increasingly important part of my work – and of the retreats I create next.
For all the courses I’ve taken and practices I’ve studied, I’ve become less interested in making
wellbeing complicated.
Sometimes you need movement.
Sometimes you need sleep.
Sometimes you need to talk.
Sometimes you need to be alone.
Sometimes you need your own two hands on your body and someone quietly guiding you through the
next 26 minutes.
And sometimes you need to get away from your normal life long enough to remember what you
actually want to return to.
My work continues to change because I continue to change.
I think that’s how it should be.
